Orangefield Elementary School is a learning community with a rich past and a bright future. Our campus is home to more than 650 students in Pre-K through 4th grade. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best education possible to all of our students. Our vision and mission statements reflect our commitment to excellence.
The vision of Orangefield Elementary School is to motivate and enable all students to accomplish their highest educational goals while building self-efficacy.
The mission of Orangefield Elementary School, in cooperation with family, community, and peers, is to prepare all students to be responsible, functional, independent members of society through a safe, positive learning environment, and to encourage academic excellence in all areas.
Our staff has also developed the following 7 non-negotiable core beliefs that we hold to be true about our school:
· An effective school curriculum should enrich the child academically, socially, culturally and physically.
· An effective school is one that teaches the whole child in a physically and emotionally safe environment.
· A successful student is able to apply skills learned in school to everyday life.
· An effective classroom is one that incorporates strategies for different learning styles (visual, auditory and tactile-kinesthetic), engages students in active learning and meets all of the student's needs.
· An effective school employee (teacher, administrator, support staff) is one who is a compassionate, cooperative individual who is supportive of other ideas while maintaining integrity.
· An effective school faculty is one that works toward a common goal, united in its focus.
· An effective instructional program includes a well-structured curriculum that uses a variety of strategies to meet the needs of students while maintaining high expectations.
We are a “Recognized” campus with even higher expectations. We were recently named a “Title I Distinguished School” by the state of Texas because of our academic performance. Though the state is implementing a new, more difficult test this year—STAAR—we expect to perform at the highest levels. We believe very strongly in the learning community process—involving parents, business leaders, community members and staff members to create a powerful and dedicated team for our students. Visitors are always welcome to visit our campus and see all of the great things our little Bobcats are doing!
Proud to be Your Principal,
